Cafe By Design

One of the best cafes in the North East. Really beautiful interior design but the attention to detail in this place is exceptional. The food is extremely good and the service is super friendly. Only recently opened, but already almost a queue outside the door it’s so popular. Will definitely be coming back here again.

Can’t fault the place. Good range of menu options. Service good. Food excellent. Nice decor. Good sized stable tables too - non of your usual wobbly, small bistro tables often used in order to cram more seats in!! On a very busy road but there is limited parking around the back. All-in-all, it’s the place to go, when in Ponteland, to eat. I’ll definitely be going again.

Absolutely beautiful cafe, fabulous staff especially the gorgeous Sonika who enticed us to eat the salted caramel cake after also eating croissant with bacon Avacado and scrambled egg!! Not to mention the best coffee. Well worth a visit but go on an empty stomach you won’t be disappointed. Brilliant ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐

We've been having a spell of visiting little places in Ponteland for breakfast and we popped into Cafe by Design, in an old bank building, to try them out one cool autumn day. The space is attractive, with nice warm Design touches and a friendly vibe. We chose a ham and cheese omelette, chicken and cheese sandwich and Polish cheese and potato dumplings. The omelette was excellent, filling and tasty. The sandwhich, served with home made coleslaw was very good, and the absolute star of the show was the dumplings. They were so good we got a second servicing to take home! We will definately be back; we need to try the other varieties of dumplings! P.S. This place feels like home with absolutely identical food to Ukrainian, which means a lot to me.

Beautiful little cafe, smartly decorated. Very chilled out vibe. Only had coffee so cannot comment on the food but my latte was very nice and they catered for allergies which was nice to see.

Relaxed, higher end café in Ponteland. Child and dog friendly. The food was excellent, with the patisserie being the star of the show - the cakes were excellent and the gentleman behind the counter was, rightly, rather enthusiastic about them. The savoury food tasted great, but I felt like I could have eaten another one. Pro tip 1: it can be busy, so be prepared to wait a bit. Pro tip 2: the building used to be a Lloyds Bank and the cafe has retained the powered double doors which means that they don't always react quite as you might expect, for example they can continue to open even after you have stopped pushing. Just relax and chill - it's not you, it's just the doors doing their thing!
